Hallo, welkom!!!
Just joined myself, Kiko is a great teacher.
Welcome, and great to hear you’re making progress!
Hello from Ohio, USA!
I’ve been playing guitar on and off since 1987 but NOWHERE near as good as I should be for playing this long. I can hang on rhythm and simple solos, but ripping through blazing fast leads has never broken through for me. Now that my kids are getting older, I find myself playing guitar on the daily and I’m looking to improve my practice habits so I can become a better musician.
I enjoy metal music and anything with great guitar playing but to be honest, I mostly listen to Reggae for the positive vibes. When it comes to guitar, I’m always playing metal.
I have an absurd amount of gear but find myself only playing a couple guitars out of the collection. My 2 favorites are a Martin acoustic and an Ibanez Prestige with a hard tail bridge. I use an AxeFx II XL through a Mission 2x12 powered cab. I probably spent more time tweaking patches on the AxeFx than playing and after many hours of cursing and self doubt, I finally have a patch that makes me not regret selling off my tube amps to buy the AxeFx.
I’m looking forward to the Guitar Hacks journey. Thank you Kiko for sharing your expertise and your positive personality. You are a true inspiration and an amazing human being!
Welcome! Are you in THE Oblivion? Canadian prog-death band?
Hi Marc, you are thinking of Obliveon. So yes, I am in “the” Oblivion
I can relate to your story.I played regularly for years and then my kids came along. Put it down for years and pretty much have to relearn most things again. Kiko seems like a great teacher so look forward to getting serious again now that the kids are older.
Welcome!!
Hi from Belgium!
Hello my name is Hugo Jacquet. I discovered guitar hacks in my never ending quest for guitar tuition. I don’t really know the music of Kiko, but his name popped up in several conversations I had about technique and musicianship…so…
Ironically I am a guitar teacher and (but) mostly studied Jazz.
I have always been a Pat Metheny/ John Scofield fan, but nowadays I am gravitating towards more heavy genres. Not really metal, but I dig Plini, Satriani, Polyphia, Andy Timmons, Nick Johnston, Guthrie Govan, Martin Miller, some Vai…
Although I am quite good at theory, harmony, chords and scales (duh…) and know my way through a chord progression I severely lack in techniques (legato, tapping, shredding etc…) to tackle the genre(s) played by these gentlemen.
I sincerely hope to remedy this one way or another like by joining this community and eventually participating in a course by Kiko…
I own several guitars, but am almost solely playing my 2012 American Standard Strat these days. I rarely perform live and in the shed I use a Helix through yamaha HS5 monitors most of the time. I do have a Kemper and an AX8, but for some obscure reason I enjoy using the Helix more (go figure).
Trivia: I don’t like swimming in deep water, haha (but not kidding).
I am looking forward to share and learn as much as I can,
Hugo
Hello everyone! Im Faris and im from Potomac, Maryland.
Ive played guitar for over 10 years now since 2009. I stopped playing around mid 2015 due to my lack of interests in guitar and also going back to University at time. I picked up guitar again in late 2016 due to my interests rising up again and also mainly due to my love of metal and rock music. Im huge fan of metal and picked up guitar because of bands like Megadeth, Metallica, Iron Maiden and Dream Theater!
I always wanted to improve my speed and technique more until I recently discovered Guitar Hacks thanks to Kikos you tube channel and its probably the best thing I ever discovered! Every since I took the course ive been able to overcome all the obstacles in my progress and it always made me enjoy playing guitar more than ever!
I play a Jackson X Series RRX24 Rhoads Electric Guitar Satin Black and have Blackstar amp.
Most people dont know I like Hip Hop and Electronic music too.
I am excited to be apart of the Guitar Hacks community and posting here!
Hello Faris, I’m sure you’ll love the course. Seeing everyday progress makes you focus and want to learn more
Hey everyone!
I’m Jeremy from Los Angeles. I mainly play blues now, but I started with metal/rock in about 2006 and am trying to pick it up again. I love any type of guitar work as long as the end goal is to be melodic and musical! Really starting to get into funk/soul at the moment.
I just picked up a Suhr modern fire burst that comes in a few days (photo attatched) and am currently in the market for a new amp as well - strongly considering the Mesa Boogie Triple Crown TC-50 or the Friedman JJ Junior.
Some trivia - I’ve been a professional photographer for the last 10 years for mainly commercial gigs, but now I’m back in college for film!
Looking forward to connect with everyone.
Hi. Im greeting all guitar hack family. My name is Rasto Toman and I live in Nitra-Slovakia. Im very glad to be a part of you.
I play guitar from my 16, but sometimes I feel the more I learn the less I know. I’ve grew up on Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden etc but now I listen to any kind of good pop, rock, metal music.
I’m using ESP guitars and Dowina acoustic guitars - their sound is amazing. As for an amps I’ve used Engle amps for a long time, but now I’m using Fractal AXE II.
I’m married and I have 3 years old son and he leaves me time for practicing just in a late night.
I’m looking forward to start this course. Just a few words to Kiko. I saw your show with Megadeth in Wien and that was the point for me that I’ve decided to start one of your guitar lessons. You’ve played veeeery clearly. Excellent show.
Have a nice time guitar hackers and rock on.

Hello,
My name is Naren and I’m from India.
I like to listen to 80’s style Hard Rock, Metal, Thrash in general. The most that I love in a song is heavy melodic and good speed. That touches my heart.
My current gear is Kiko Loureiro SP2 Signature and plugged to Amplitube4 output to a 120W Line 6.
I wish to play songs from Joe Satriani, Metallica, Andy James, Kiko Loureiro, Megadeth, Judas Priest, Amon Amarth, Kreator, and also learn to write my songs in those lines.
Looking forward to improve with all your help and support.
Naren
